‘Incident To insight’ – Reenactment Workshops
When it comes to high impact, inclusive and memorable behavioural development i2i workshops have no competition. They are:
- Flexible – we can turn your specific incidents into powerful minidramas and include a wide range of skills development and safety models to suit your needs
- Engaging – even the hardest to reach audiences get involved in the action
- Immersive and memorable – people relate to the characters, seeing themselves and their colleagues in the action
- Experiential – participants rehearse new behaviours with the actors and see and feel the result in real time so the behaviour change is sustained

But what sets them apart is their focus – on how latent conditions like poor communication skills, bad relationships, lack of trust and immature safety culture make accident and injury much more likely
Drama as a learning methodology is widely used in safety-critical industries. Because it is interactive, high-impact and memorable it can lead to sustained behaviour change. B.SAFE i2i ‘Incident to Insight’ reenactment workshops use drama to create behavioural safety interventions that are
- Tailored – our in-house script writer means we can produce a script based on incidents that are specific to your organisation or sector
- Practical – we use examples and case studies, create scripts and design workshops, develop skills and offer activities that have a direct applicability to participants’ work environment
- Interactive – adults learn best when they can use and build on their own knowledge and experiences in the learning process. Participants enjoy using their own experience and their new skills and tools to get involved in the action
- Engaging – ‘bringing the workplace into the training room’ through drama is a powerful way of demonstrating to practical people the relevance of what’s being presented
- Facilitative – we use a facilitational not presentational delivery approach to help the audience link what’s happening in the room with their own experience
In addition, we add unique touches. Sara Lodge, director, created the cartoon characters OSCAR, TED and STAR to help anchor the tools and communication models in characters not just words. This is of particular benefit to those, for example, with dyslexia or different reading ages.
All of this means creates a high-impact, interactive and memorable experience which the audience is will remember and act on in the workplace.

Beehive has been designing and delivering their i2i ‘Incident to Insight’ workshops for the last decade. Here are some examples of what we’ve achieved:
- Two and a half day ‘Behavioural Leadership Training’ Programme for site safety leaders delivered in German, Swedish, Dutch, Hungarian and English across Uniper sites in Europe
We created a four-scene mini-drama and developed the Five Leadership Habits model – listening, open questions, trustworthiness, feedback and coaching – as a basis for this workshop. - 34 x 1 day ‘Permit to Work’ Re-enactment workshops for Alstom Power Services delivered across sites to all personnel including apprentice
We created a four-scene scenario derived from PTW incidents to stress the importance of PTW in Alstom’s safety management system. Incidents involving PTWs dropped by 50% - Re-enactment video ‘We got the POWRA’ for SSE
We produced a three-scene re-enactment video with multiple possible endings as part of our design for an interactive POWRA training workshop - 1 Day ‘Are we speaking the same language’ Re-enactment workshop for Uniper Germany Senior Leadership Groups
We created a drama demonstrating the link between latent leadership behaviours at senior levels and active errors on site, using the concept of ‘moments of truth’ - 5 day ‘We all have a part to play’ Re-enactment workshop for Uniper France, delivered in French on site to all site personnel
We created a mini-drama from a real incident to demonstrate the Swiss Cheese Model, the importance of defence in depth and how everyone is responsible for safety
